Paolo Bandini weighs up the pros and cons of Aaron Ramsey’s rumoured move to Juventus for the Italian giants.

Aaron Ramsey is prepared to stay at Arsenal until his contract runs out at the end of the season and resist any offers of a move during the January transfer window, sources have told ESPN FC.

Ramsey is set to leave the Emirates following Arsenal’s decision to withdraw the offer of a new £180,000-a-week contract in September.

Juventus and Bayern Munich are both keen to sign Ramsey as a free agent, with the two clubs allowed to open talks with the Welshman this month in an effort to negotiate a precontract agreement.

Liverpool have also monitored Ramsey’s situation, but the Anfield outfit cannot speak to Ramsey until June 1 due to regulations prohibiting players from entering talks with other English clubs until the final month of their contract.

Arsenal supporters chanted Ramsey’s name during Saturday’s FA Cup third-round victory at Blackpool, urging the former Cardiff player to stay at the club.

But while remaining at Arsenal beyond the end of this season is out of Ramsey’s hands due to the club’s contract stance — a position that has been sanctioned by manager Unai Emery — the player is determined to assess his options and see out the final six months of his deal at the Emirates.

Moving in the summer could also see the player handed a more lucrative contract at his new club with no transfer fee payable.

But while Ramsey could be handed opportunities to leave Arsenal this month, which would enable Arsenal to command a fee for his services, sources have told ESPN FC that he is not looking to move in the January window.

Emery was non-committal on Ramsey’s situation after the game at Blackpool, when the Spaniard did not directly answer a question about whether he wanted the player to stay at the club.
