England left-back Danny Rose has joined Newcastle on loan from Tottenham for the rest of the campaign.
Rose had not featured in any of Tottenham’s last four matches in all competitions since starting the 1-0 home defeat to Liverpool.
The 29-year-old, who joined Spurs from Leeds in 2007, has 29 England caps and returns to the north east, where he spent the 2012-13 season on loan at Newcastle’s rivals Sunderland. That season he was named Sunderland’s Young Player of the Year.
Rose also represented England at the 2018 World Cup and Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games.
Newcastle sit 14th in Premier League table, seven points above the relegation zone.
